Subject to any further restrictions imposed by the Government the good news is that the Exeter & East Devon 2022 FOWA on the Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd January is going ahead, venue and other details are on the poster below.
The committee have thought long and hard about whether to continue with this festival but have decided that we can’t keep waiting for ever and with additional Covid measures in place are willing to give it a try. This morning the Events Team have also given their final consent.
The Festival is already following Government guidelines, including physical separation of the bar area from customers and no ‘propping up the bar’, along with ventilation and sanitisation measures and use of face coverings by staff. We are also recommending attendance only if fully vaccinated and boosted, ideally along with achieving a negative self-administered LFT on the morning of visiting. Track and trace posters are also to be prominently displayed and its use encouraged. Masks will also be provided at the point of entry, with encouragement to wear them when walking around the building.”
These are just some of our Covid measures, we have more in our H&S risk assessment. It’s our intention to make the venue as safe as possible for customers and staff.
Thornbridge brewery are coming down to the Cheltenham Motor Club on Saturday 29 January for a tap takeover/meet the brewer.
Starts at 7.30pm. 6 casks, 4 kegs of which 2 are stouts. CAMRA members are welcome on production of their CAMRA card.
The Friends of the Cheltenham Samaritans bring to you Cheltenham’s first ever ‘Winter Craft Beer Festival’, (Note this is not a CAMRA event)
Set in the unique and stunning settings of a Church. Not just any old church either, this is at the newly refurbished ‘Pip and Jims’ (otherwise known as St. Philip and St. James) in Leckhampton (just off the Bath Road). This is the first time that an event like this has been held in the church and if successful we hope it may be the first of many.
They will have two sessions for the festival one on Friday evening and one on Saturday afternoon, as follows:
Friday 25 February: 17:30 – 22:00 (last orders at 21:30)
Saturday 26 February: 13:00 – 17:30 (last orders at 17:00)
Each session will be limited to 250 people and at each session there will be at least 10 keg beers (including key kegs) available covering a whole range of different styles suitable for the winter season. There will also be a small range of ciders, but please note there will be no soft drinks, wine etc. It is planned that the beer list for the two sessions will be different.
A small range of cold artisan food will also be served but we cannot allow food brought in from outside to be consumed on the premises.
Tickets are £10.00 (plus ticket fees) and include a branded festival ½ pint glass and beer list. A small selection of early bird advance tickets are being offered at £8.00 (plus ticket fees).
All monies raised from this festival go to support the running of Cheltenham Samaritans.
Over 18s only, proof of age may be required on entry.
