The February ale amble is to Wolverhampton.
We will be catching the 10:41 train from Cheltenham Spa (direct)
Returning on the 18:00 from Wolverhampton (changing at Birmingham New Street)
Please note that train ticket prices increase on 2 January, so if you want to save a couple of pounds book before that date.
The March Ale amble visits the Bristol Suburb of Bedminster.
Although there is only one pub in the GBG there are plenty of other interesting ones to visit.
We will get the 10.26 train out and return from Bristol Temple Meads around 6.08 pm

The April Ale amble heads back to Worcestershire this time to visit Kidderminster. NOW ON TUESDAY 24TH APRIL
Astonishingly they have 7 pubs in the GBG including 2 micro pubs (including the CAMRA National pub of the year finalist 2018, The Weavers Real Ale House ).
We will get the 9.48 am (change at Worcester), getting there at 11.10 . Coming back we will get the 6.32 (changing again at Worcester). getting in at 7.33 pm. The off peak was £11.75 (with rail card).

The June Ale Amble will head to the seaside – destination Dawlish!

This will be a trip by train, and it is recommended that you go for the split ticket option – which works out cheaper than a direct return fare. You’ll need to book from Cheltenham to Bristol TM, Bristol TM to Exeter and Exeter to Dawlish. If you’ve not done this before, then please contact Veronica for further details and to express your interest. The departure from Cheltenham will be at 10:46am and is a direct train. The return is scheduled for 5:56pm, changing at Exeter.
July’s Amble, on the 31st, will be a trip to Weston-Super-Mare, by train. Departing Cheltenham at 10:26am. Return time TBC.

A visit to the Great Welsh Beer Festival in Cardiff. Over 120 beers and 60 ciders will be available at “The Depot”.
An all-day ticket costs £7, with a £1 beer token for card carrying CAMRA members. See their website (above) for full details.

For anyone going by train, then it is advised that due to the location of the event, you use the south exit at Cardiff station (near platform 8).
By popular request, Chris Coleman is organising another trip on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway train. The destination is the recently opened extension to Broadway on Wed 24 October. He will be getting the 10.55 train from the racecourse. Coming back, you have the choice of getting the 15.10 train or the 606 bus. If you wish to go both ways on the bus the times are – 11.15 from Royal Well and returning from Broadway at 16.48. Do let Chris know if you wish to go. Chris’s contact details are above.
